Retraining is off course still possible but that will only upgrade weapons, armour or experience. The catch’s is that these units cannot be replenished like normal troops. There are only 50 units of every sort in the pool. The game has a merc pool just for the Balearics and I changed that pool to include every merc unit in the game. I can only get the units in one region, namely, the Balearics. I can uses spies, assassins and diplomats as much as I want to but I can’t bribe settlements.Īn army on the move must have a general leading it. I can use generals to lead the armies but I can’t train other land units, not even to keep order in my towns and cities. I’ll use only mercenary units to conquer as much of the world as possible. I want to conquer the world using only mercenary troops. I began changing the file and stated thinking about a new special campaign I would do. Great fun, had a cool game with Macedon some weeks ago.īut I found out I can change the merc file and make units cheap or make more of them available. With my laptop I can change the files and for the first time ever play as Macedon, Pontus or Spain. It broke down a couple of months ago and I have been playing on my PS3 (not Total War but other games) and on my laptop (just Rome Total War).
